La insularitat descolonitzada: l'estigmatització de la imatge d'Eivissa al cinema (1960-2020)

Résumé

The territorial construction of the concept of insularity was one of the first forms of domination before the arrival of postcolonial revisionism based on the complex concept of archipelagos. Despite all the insularities, they are still largely subject to imposed external images. Drawing from the rich filmography available from the last 60 years on the island of Ibiza, this paper will analyse the progressive imposition of external territorial stigmatisation over a negated island identity. The construction of the image of Ibiza in the cinema has had an impact on its collective identity that is based on a cross-sectional repudiation of its insularity through the stigmatisation of different stereotypes and a moralising discourse. This methodological consideration of filmography as an instrument of academic analysis to demonstrate island stigmatisation also considers the postcolonial vision created from within the island archipelago.
